Lady Brett Ashley

Lady Brett Ashley is a lady-led indie rock band from the East Coast of Canada. Their debut album, Fault Lines, earned them considerable praise and landed them showcases at Music NL week, East Coast Music Week and the Lawnya Vawnya Festival. With a single premiere on The Strombo Show on CBC, and opening slots for Alvvays, Jeremy Fisher, Long Distance Runners, Coyote, and many more, they are a motivated, determined young act to watch.

“A unique indie sound from a band driven to stand equally amongst the elite in the Canadian music scene.” – Devin O’Gorman, Rock Island Magazine

“Lady Brett Ashley shift from dark, brooding post-rock to sunny, sophisticated pop with surprising ease.” – Vish Khanna, Exclaim!

“”Fault Lines is reminiscent of 1970s bluesy folk rock, with reflective lyrics, organ sounds for texture, and smart guitar riffs. Nolan’s vocals are angelic and unique, albeit soft, and there’s a haunting, atmospheric aspect to the album, even the more percussion-driven songs. Still, there’s a groove.” – Tara Bradbury, The Telegram

“Driving drums, full and present basslines, and spacey organs and electric pianos expand the group’s sonic palette and support Nolan’s crunchy guitar chords and smoky vocals. Fault Lines is a grander, heavier, and more mature chapter for the band, and looks to carry them forward.” – Lukas Wall, The Overcast”
