Chris Ryan

Hailing from Canada’s East Coast, Newfoundland’s Chris Ryan has been entertaining crowds for over a decade. With his gritty voice, stellar guitar playing and high energy stage presence, Chris has become a mainstay in the Atlantic Canadian entertainment scene. Chris has had the opportunity to perform at the prestigious Halifax Urban Folk Festival and Newfoundland & Labrador Folk Festival, as well as share the stage with country music legends Toby Keith and Deana Carter, Canadian royalty Blue Rodeo, Canadian country artist Dallas Smith, Great Big Sea’s Alan Doyle and Newfoundland folk favorites Fortunate Ones.

In 2014, Chris began accompanying CCMA nominee & CMT “Big In A Small Town” finalist Quentin Reddy. While working with Quentin, Chris played stages at the Canadian Country Music Awards, East Coast Music Awards and appeared on the Bell Media show “Club One New Releases”, filmed & broadcast in both Newfoundland & Trinidad and Tobago. Since the release of his self titled debut album, Chris has caught the attention of the East Coast music industry, playing showcases during East Coast Music Week and Music Nfld. & Labrador Week, along with receiving nominations for “Country Recording of the Year” and “Songwriter of the Year”.

Chris’ songwriting skills allowed him to be part of the 2016 ECMA SOCAN Song House, working with Nashville’s songwriting guru Ralph Murphy. This also led to Chris touring with Ottawa Valley artist Kelly Prescott from Canada to Tennessee and co-writing in Nashville.

Chris was recently selected to participate in the 2019 edition of the Canadian Song Conference’s “Canadian Songwriter Challenge”, co-writing with artists from across Canada in Charlottetown, PEI.

Numerous singles from Chris’ debut album continue to receive regular rotation on radio stations in Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia & Ontario and he was an East semi-finalist in the 2018 SiriusXM-CCMA Top of the Country Project. Chris’ last single, “Last Forever”, peaked in the 70’s in Canada on the BDS Canadian Country music chart, was added to SiriusXM’s CBC Country channel and included in the official Spotify “Down Home Country” playlist.

CRs next single “Slow Down” is being released in November 2019 and he’s been hard at work writing & co-writing songs for his follow-up album to be released in 2020. Chris is also on the road in Canada with Nfld. and Labrador award winning Country artist Carolina East and Manitoba Roots/Americana artist Sierra Noble.
